Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (dog-friendly)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt (for icing)
  • Natural food coloring (for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl: whole wheat flour and rolled oats.
  3. Add the wet ingredients: unsweetened applesauce, peanut butter, and the egg. Stir until well combined.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut out shapes using Halloween-themed cookie cutters and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool the cookies on a rack before icing.
  8. Prepare the icing by mixing Greek yogurt with natural food coloring.
  9. Decorate the cooled cookies with the colorful icing to create Halloween masks.
  10. Allow the icing to dry before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the dough one day in advance and store it in the fridge. Use an air fryer for cooking if preferred, adjusting temperature and time accordingly.
