A nostalgic dessert featuring tender cake soaked in strawberry jello, topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

- 1 box white cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup strawberry jello mix
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup whipped cream or Cool Whip
- Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.
- Combine the white cake mix, 1 cup of water, 1/3 cup of vegetable oil, and the 3 eggs in a mixing bowl.
- Beat the mixture until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch cake pan.
- Bake according to the package instructions.
- Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
- Poke holes all over the cake using a fork.
- Dissolve the strawberry jello mix in 1 cup of boiling water in a separate bowl.
- Pour the jello mixture over the cake.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Dollop with whipped cream or Cool Whip before serving and sprinkle with fresh strawberry slices.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 4-5 days. Optionally freeze for up to 3 months.
