- 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the diced apples with cinnamon and set aside.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Mix the melted butter, milk, egg, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Spread half of the batter in a greased baking dish, top with spiced apples, and dollop the remaining batter over the apples.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
