- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, followed by the maraschino cherry juice.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Blend the dry mixture into the wet mixture until fully combined.
- Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For chewier cookies, consider adding an extra egg yolk and chilling the dough before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
