- 2 pita breads
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for brushing
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Cut the pitas: Slice each pita bread in half to create pockets.
- Stuff the pockets: Fill each pita pocket with the lamb mixture, pressing gently to secure the filling.
- Preheat the grill: Get your grill hot over medium heat and lightly brush the grates with olive oil.
- Grill the pitas: Cook the stuffed pitas on the grill for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked through and golden-brown.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from the grill, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a make-ahead option, prepare the lamb mixture a day before and refrigerate. You can also use an air fryer or oven as an alternative for grilling.
