Description
A warm, inviting focaccia bread infused with garlic and Parmesan cheese, offering a golden-brown crust and a soft interior.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh rosemary (optional)
- Coarse sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients in a small bowl and combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually pour in the yeast mixture along with the olive oil, mixing until a dough starts forming.
- Dust your countertop with flour and knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while the dough rises.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet, pressing it out into the pan’s shape.
- Mix melted butter and minced garlic in a small bowl, and brush it over the dough.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top, followed by rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- Allow the dough to rest for another 20-30 minutes before baking.
- Bake the focaccia for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool slightly before slicing and serving.
