Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients in a small bowl and combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually pour in the yeast mixture along with the olive oil, mixing until a dough starts forming.
  3. Dust your countertop with flour and knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) while the dough rises.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet, pressing it out into the pan’s shape.
  7. Mix melted butter and minced garlic in a small bowl, and brush it over the dough.
  8. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top, followed by rosemary and coarse sea salt.
  9. Allow the dough to rest for another 20-30 minutes before baking.
  10. Bake the focaccia for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
