Description

A luxurious dessert combining a fudgy brownie base with a creamy chocolate mousse, topped with rich chocolate frosting and shavings.


Ingredients

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box. Prepare a baking pan by greasing it lightly.
  2. Bake the brownie mix with eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Stir and pour into the prepared pan. Bake as directed and cool completely.
  3. Melt the chopped semisweet chocolate in a double boiler, gently stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  4. Whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to whip until airy.
  5. Fold the melted chocolate into whipped cream using a rubber spatula until fully combined.
  6. Layer the cake by cutting the cooled brownies into rectangles, adding mousse and brownie layers until the top is reached.
  7. Add chocolate frosting on top and garnish with chocolate shavings.
  8. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Notes

For best results, prepare brownies and mousse a day ahead. Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor.
