- 1 box brownie mix
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box. Prepare a baking pan by greasing it lightly.
- Bake the brownie mix with eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Stir and pour into the prepared pan. Bake as directed and cool completely.
- Melt the chopped semisweet chocolate in a double boiler, gently stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- Whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form, then gradually add sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to whip until airy.
- Fold the melted chocolate into whipped cream using a rubber spatula until fully combined.
- Layer the cake by cutting the cooled brownies into rectangles, adding mousse and brownie layers until the top is reached.
- Add chocolate frosting on top and garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Notes
For best results, prepare brownies and mousse a day ahead. Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor.
