Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and mix until combined.
- Whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just mixed.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough before baking. You can replace half a cup of flour with rolled oats for added texture.
