- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup toasted pecans, chopped
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy; add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture, alternating with the whole milk.
- Bake in the prepared dish for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake completely, then poke holes in the top.
- Prepare the milks mixture by combining sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream.
- Pour the milk mixture over the cooled cake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- Finish with whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped pecans before serving.
Notes
For variations, try different nuts or add a splash of bourbon to the milk mixture.
