Description
Soft and fluffy breakfast rolls filled with savory ham, creamy cheese, and fluffy scrambled eggs, drizzled with warm hollandaise sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs, scrambled
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
- Hollandaise sauce (for drizzle)
Instructions
- Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Pour in the melted butter, then gradually add the warm milk. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead to Perfection: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
- Let It Rise: Place your dough back in the bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 60 minutes.
- Prepare the Filling: Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the scrambled eggs evenly, sprinkle the diced ham, and layer on the shredded cheese.
- Roll It Up: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log and slice into 12 even pieces.
- Rise Again: Arrange the rolls cut side up in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake to Golden Brown: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Garnish with Hollandaise: Drizzle warm hollandaise sauce over your freshly baked rolls.
Notes
You can substitute ham with cooked sausage or sautéed vegetables for a vegetarian option. Prepare the dough up to step 3 and refrigerate overnight for a make-ahead option.
