- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface, cut into squares, about 4 inches by 4 inches.
- Mix the blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a bowl until well combined.
- Place a spoonful of the blackberry mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold the pastry over to form triangles, sealing the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg using a pastry brush.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
These turnovers can be made ahead by preparing the filling up to 24 hours in advance. You can also use frozen blackberries if needed.
