Description
Warm and inviting quesadillas filled with sweet, caramelized apples and fragrant cinnamon, perfect for a cozy breakfast experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 medium apples (peeled, diced)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 2 medium flour tortillas (8-inch)
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese or 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Begin by peeling and dicing the apples into small cubes for even cooking.
- Next, heat the skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Once melted and bubbling, toss in the diced apples, cinnamon, and maple syrup.
- Sauté the mixture for about 6–8 minutes until the apples soften and become fragrant, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- On one half of each tortilla, spread a layer of cream cheese (or sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese). Spoon the warm apple mixture over the cheese, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Gently fold the tortilla in half, encasing the delicious filling.
- In a clean skillet, melt a bit of butter over medium heat. Carefully place the folded quesadilla in the skillet and toast for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before slicing into wedges, and serve warm with a drizzle of additional maple syrup if desired.
Notes
Consider prepping the apple filling the night before for quick assembly. These quesadillas can be made in an air fryer for an even crispier finish.
