Description
A succulent chicken dish glazed with apple cider, bursting with fall flavors and perfectly balanced sweetness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 large apple, sliced (like Honeycrisp or Fuji)
- 1 cup apple cider
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh thyme sprigs for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
Instructions
- Heat the skillet: In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat until shimmering.
- Season the chicken: Generously season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper, then place them skin-side down into the skillet.
- Crisp the skin: Cook the chicken undisturbed for 7-8 minutes, allowing the skin to turn golden and crispy.
- Flip the chicken: Carefully flip the thighs and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
- Add the apples: Toss in the apple slices and allow them to caramelize for 2 minutes.
- Pour in the cider: Gently pour the apple cider into the skillet and add minced garlic.
- Simmer to perfection: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and cook until the chicken is fully cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle fresh thyme over the chicken before serving.
