Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and salt. Let it sit for 30 minutes to wilt.
  2. In a saucepan, combine honey, apple cider vinegar, water, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and bring to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  4. Pour the honey mixture over the wilted cabbage and mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a clean jar and seal tightly.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes.
  • This dish can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
