Description

Delicious spicy crab poppers with a creamy filling and crispy exterior, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying or cooking spray for baking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking.
  2. In a bowl, mix crab meat, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls or poppers about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Roll each popper in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  5. To bake, place the poppers on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Alternatively, to fry, carefully place each popper in hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Prepare the mixture the night before for easier cooking. Air fryer is a healthier option for cooking.
