Description

Delicious homemade Sourdough Cheez-Its with a crunchy texture and rich cheesy flavor, perfect for snacking.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup active sourdough discard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • Water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the grated cheddar, flour, sourdough discard, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Incorporate Butter: Add cold cubed butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Form the Dough: If dry, add water slowly until dough comes together.
  5. Roll Out the Dough: Roll dough to 1/8 inch thick on a floured surface.
  6. Cut the Crackers: Cut into your desired shapes using a pizza cutter or knife.
  7. Arrange and Bake: Place crackers on the baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
