			- 2 slices of bread
- 2 slices of smoked Gouda cheese
- 1/2 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the smoked Gouda cheese and apple slices on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook until the bottom slice is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich carefully and cook the other side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, about another 3-4 minutes.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon on the apples.
- Use a sturdy bread like sourdough or whole grain for best results.
- Serve with a side of tomato soup for a classic pairing.
