- 9 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and more meat sauce.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles, remaining meat sauce, and the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the noodles are tender and the cheese is melted.
- Let it sit for 10-15 minutes before serving to set.
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
- For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with lentils or mushrooms.
- Make sure to break the noodles to fit your slow cooker if necessary.
