			- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, ground ginger, and black pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and stir into the sauce to thicken before serving.
- Serve the chicken with the sauce over rice or vegetables.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh garlic.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- This dish pairs well with steamed broccoli or rice.
