Description

Delicious cinnamon rolls filled with gooey pecan pie filling, combining the best of both worlds in one delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup pecan pie filling
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: In a large bowl, mix together the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix in the wet ingredients: Add the melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gently whisk until well combined.
  3. Form the dough: Gradually incorporate the flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and allow it to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll it out: Roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the filling: Evenly spread the pecan pie filling over the rolled-out dough, right to the edges.
  8. Add the spice: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together, then sprinkle generously over the filling.
  9. Roll it tightly: Starting from one end, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.
  10. Slice: Cut the log into 1-inch pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  11. Second rise: Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  12. Preheat and bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Finish with flair: Drizzle warm rolls with caramel sauce and sprinkle with toasted pecans before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead: Prepare the dough the night before and let it rise in the fridge. Bake fresh in the morning.
