Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine milk, granulated sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat, stirring until thickened.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and gradually add the hot mixture to temper the eggs.
- Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla extract and chopped pecans.
- Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and let it cool.
- In a mixing bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the cooled pie and garnish with additional pecans if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
