A delicious Patty Melt served on garlic herb toasted sourdough bread, combining savory flavors and a satisfying crunch.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices of sourdough bread
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or basil)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onions until caramelized.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and half of the minced garlic.
- Form the beef mixture into patties and cook in the same skillet until browned and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the remaining garlic with butter and spread it on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- Once the patties are done, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
- In another skillet, toast the sourdough slices, buttered side down, until golden brown.
- Assemble the melt by placing the patty with melted cheese between two slices of toasted sourdough, adding caramelized onions on top.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a slice of tomato or pickles to the melt.
- Adjust the amount of cheese according to your preference.
- Can be made with turkey or veggie patties for a different twist.
