Description

A delicious Patty Melt served on garlic herb toasted sourdough bread, combining savory flavors and a satisfying crunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (thyme, oregano, or basil)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onions until caramelized.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and half of the minced garlic.
  3. Form the beef mixture into patties and cook in the same skillet until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the patties are cooking, mix the remaining garlic with butter and spread it on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  5. Once the patties are done, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  6. In another skillet, toast the sourdough slices, buttered side down, until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the melt by placing the patty with melted cheese between two slices of toasted sourdough, adding caramelized onions on top.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a slice of tomato or pickles to the melt.
  • Adjust the amount of cheese according to your preference.
  • Can be made with turkey or veggie patties for a different twist.
