Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rinsed rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture.
  5. Allow the rice to cool slightly until it is manageable.
  6. Wet your hands to prevent sticking, take a handful of rice, and flatten it in your palm.
  7. Add your desired filling in the center and mold the rice around it to form a triangle or ball shape.
  8. Wrap the onigiri with a strip of nori and serve.
