  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup of active sourdough starter and 1 cup of warm water in a large bowl. Stir gently to mix.
  2. Add 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixture. Incorporate the flour until it transforms into dough.
  3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a warm spot to rise for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
  6. Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  7. Transfer the shaped dough into the hot Dutch oven. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best results, ensure your sourdough starter is active. Allow to cool completely before slicing to maintain texture.
