- 1 cup active sourdough starter
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup of active sourdough starter and 1 cup of warm water in a large bowl. Stir gently to mix.
- Add 3 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixture. Incorporate the flour until it transforms into dough.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a warm spot to rise for 2-3 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with the Dutch oven inside.
- Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Transfer the shaped dough into the hot Dutch oven. Cover and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool the bread on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
For best results, ensure your sourdough starter is active. Allow to cool completely before slicing to maintain texture.
