- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lard
- 1/4 cup brandy or whiskey
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon anise seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, lard, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and brandy (or whiskey) and mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, anise seeds, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- For a sweeter cookie, you can sprinkle sugar on top before baking.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
