Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your hand.
  5. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center and wrap the meat around it, forming a ball.
  6. Repeat until all the meat mixture is used.
  7. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  8. In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat.
  9. Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve hot with pasta or on a sub roll.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning to the meat mixture.
  • These meatballs can be frozen before baking for later use.
  • Serve with fresh basil for garnish.
