Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup chocolate fudge for filling
  • Chocolate ganache for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Blend on medium speed with an electric mixer for about two minutes.
  4. Gently mix in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about ten minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Level the top of the first cake layer and create a hollow center. Fill it with chocolate fudge.
  8. Stack the second cake layer on top.
  9. Enrobe the cake in chocolate ganache, ensuring it coats every edge.
  10. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
