A delicious and easy recipe for Mediterranean Chicken Gyros served with homemade Tzatziki sauce.

- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber, grated
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, prepare the Tzatziki sauce by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt in a bowl. Mix well and refrigerate.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.
- Warm the pita breads on the grill for a minute.
- Assemble the gyros by placing cooked chicken on the pita, adding lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a generous amount of Tzatziki sauce.
- Wrap the pita around the filling and serve immediately.

- For extra flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight.
- Feel free to add other toppings like feta cheese or olives.
