Description
A hearty and comforting casserole made with layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy potatoes, and topped with cheese and crispy bacon.

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in salt, pepper, and paprika into the beef mixture.
- In a bowl, mix sour cream and milk until smooth.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the beef mixture, and half of the sour cream mixture.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, and sour cream mixture.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
- Can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
