  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup kimchi, chopped
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Whisk in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, cooking for about 1 minute.
  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the chopped kimchi and cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, mixing well to combine.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add some gochujang to the cheese sauce.
