Description
A comforting and savory dish where juicy ground beef meets crisp-tender broccoli, all coated in a creamy cheddar sauce, perfect for a keto lifestyle.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by heating the olive oil in your large skillet over medium heat. Allow it to shimmer before adding the ground beef. Use your spatula to break it into small crumbles. Cook, occasionally stirring, until the beef is deeply browned and no pink remains, about 6–8 minutes.
- Once the beef reaches that perfect browning, push it to one side of the skillet. In the other empty space, toss in the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté for around 3 minutes, stirring until the onion becomes translucent.
- Mix in the broccoli florets, gently tossing them with the beef until evenly distributed. Let them sauté for just one minute.
- Now it’s time to season! Sprinkle over the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir thoroughly.
- Cover the skillet with a lid, letting it cook for 5–7 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and pour in the heavy cream. Stir gently, scraping up any flavorful bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top and cover again, allowing it to melt for 2–3 minutes.
- If you’re jazzing things up, drizzle the Worcestershire sauce and sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the melted cheese. Give everything one last gentle stir.
- Serve hot, straight from the pan.
Notes
For a kick, add more red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños. Best served with cauliflower rice or avocado salad.
