Description

Delicious homemade biscuits for dogs made with wholesome chicken broth and applesauce or pumpkin.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce or pureed pumpkin
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, applesauce (or pumpkin), and egg until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Gradually add the whole wheat flour, stirring until the dough forms. Knead gently until smooth.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough.
  6. Place the cut-outs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before serving to your dog.

Notes

These biscuits can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge or frozen for up to three months.
