- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk.
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture over the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer.
- Top with the rest of the cinnamon-brown sugar mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
Make the batter a night ahead for convenience. Let it come to room temperature before baking.
