Description

A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, infused with the rich flavors of French onion soup.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 cups of caramelized onions
  • 1 cup of Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the onions in a skillet over medium heat until golden brown.
  2. Mix the Gruyère and mozzarella cheese in a bowl.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side, layer caramelized onions and cheese mixture.
  5. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
