A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring caramelized onions and gooey cheese for a melty delight.
Ingredients

			- 4 slices of bread
- 2 cups of caramelized onions
- 1 cup of shredded Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Spread the remaining butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the caramelized onions and both cheeses on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the caramelized onions.
- Use a mix of cheeses for a more complex flavor profile.
- Serve with a side of soup for a complete meal.
