Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 head of garlic, roasted
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  4. Add the yeast mixture, roasted garlic, and chopped rosemary to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf.
  8. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  11. Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
