Ingredients

  • 4 cups frosting (buttercream or cream cheese)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Divide the batter into four bowls and add different pastel food coloring to each.
  8. Pour each colored batter into separate greased cake pans.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
  11. Layer the cakes with frosting in between and cover the entire cake with frosting.
  12. Decorate as desired for Easter.
