- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, and sugar.
- Dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out the dough and press it into a deep dish pizza pan.
- Layer mozzarella cheese on the bottom, followed by pizza sauce, pepperoni, bell peppers, and mushrooms.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
