Ingredients

- 2 cans of clams, drained
- 4 cups of diced potatoes
- 1 cup of chopped onion
- 1 cup of chopped celery
- 4 cups of chicken broth
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 teaspoon of thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In the crockpot, combine the clams, potatoes, onion, celery, and chicken broth.
- Add the thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the heavy cream and butter.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot.
Notes
- For a thicker chowder, mash some of the potatoes before adding the cream.
- Feel free to add bacon for extra flavor.
- This recipe can be easily doubled for larger gatherings.
