Description
Crockpot Carnitas is a flavorful Mexican pulled pork dish that is slow-cooked to perfection, making it tender and easy to shred.
Ingredients

- 3–4 lbs pork shoulder
- 1 onion, quartered
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 orange, juiced
- 1 lime, juiced
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Place the pork shoulder in the crockpot.
- Add the quartered onion and minced garlic on top of the pork.
- Pour the orange and lime juice over the meat.
- Sprinkle cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and bay leaf over the ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours until the pork is tender.
- Once cooked, shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the juices in the crockpot.
- Serve in tacos, burritos, or on a platter with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sear the pork shoulder in a skillet before adding it to the crockpot.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- This dish can be frozen for up to 3 months.
