Description

Crockpot Carnitas is a flavorful Mexican pulled pork dish that is slow-cooked to perfection, making it tender and easy to shred.


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions

  1. Place the pork shoulder in the crockpot.
  2. Add the quartered onion and minced garlic on top of the pork.
  3. Pour the orange and lime juice over the meat.
  4. Sprinkle cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and bay leaf over the ingredients.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours until the pork is tender.
  6. Once cooked, shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the juices in the crockpot.
  7. Serve in tacos, burritos, or on a platter with your favorite toppings.
