  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
  2. Brown the Italian sausage, breaking it apart until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Sauté the onion, garlic, and red bell pepper for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Add the dry red wine and scrape up any browned bits, letting it simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Combine canned tomatoes, chicken broth, soy sauce, dried oregano, chili flakes, and black pepper.
  6. Add the uncooked pasta, ensuring it’s mostly submerged, then bring to a gentle boil.
  7. Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is al dente.
  8. Finish by stirring in heavy cream and grated Parmesan, simmering for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Adjust seasoning before serving, then plate and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
