Instructions
- Heat a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet over medium heat.
- Brown the Italian sausage, breaking it apart until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes.
- Sauté the onion, garlic, and red bell pepper for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Add the dry red wine and scrape up any browned bits, letting it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Combine canned tomatoes, chicken broth, soy sauce, dried oregano, chili flakes, and black pepper.
- Add the uncooked pasta, ensuring it’s mostly submerged, then bring to a gentle boil.
- Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta is al dente.
- Finish by stirring in heavy cream and grated Parmesan, simmering for another 2-3 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning before serving, then plate and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
