- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt until well combined.
- Gradually add in warm water and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in the bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar evenly across the surface, then roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Place the rolled log in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, tucking the ends underneath. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While it bakes, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze.
- Once the focaccia cools slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top.
