Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Bring mixture to a rolling boil.
- Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon of salt all at once. Stir vigorously until a dough forms.
- Remove the pan from heat and mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag and pipe small rounds into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, then drain on paper towels.
- Mix 1 cup of granulated sugar with 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon and roll warm churro bites in the mixture.
- Serve hot with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping.
Notes
These churro bites are best served immediately for optimal crunchiness. They can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
