A festive and delicious Christmas Trifle dessert that layers sponge cake, custard, fruit, and whipped cream, perfect for holiday gatherings.

- 1 pound sponge cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 cups vanilla custard
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice (optional)
- Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a large trifle bowl, layer half of the sponge cake cubes at the bottom.
- Drizzle half of the sherry or fruit juice over the sponge cake.
- Add a layer of mixed berries on top of the sponge cake.
- Pour half of the vanilla custard over the berries.
- Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the custard.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with mint leaves and additional berries if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a non-alcoholic version, skip the sherry and use fruit juice instead.
- Feel free to use any seasonal fruits you prefer.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance for convenience.
