- 1 pound sponge cake
- 2 cups custard
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice
- Chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the sponge cake into cubes and layer half of it in the bottom of a trifle dish.
- Drizzle half of the sherry or fruit juice over the sponge cake.
- Add a layer of custard over the sponge cake.
- Add a layer of mixed berries on top of the custard.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining sponge cake, sherry, custard, and berries.
- Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to use any seasonal fruits you prefer.
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute sherry with fruit juice.
