- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the flour, salt, and baking powder to the mixture and mix until combined.
- Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of a greased 9×9 inch baking pan.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the cherry filling.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before dusting with powdered sugar and cutting into bars.
