- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Gradually mix in the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the baking pan.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the pressed crust and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Crumble the remaining mixture on top of the chocolate chips.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free all-purpose flour. You can also swap chocolate chips for butterscotch or peanut butter chips.
