Description

Deliciously indulgent bars featuring a crisp, golden layer, gooey caramel, and creamy chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, and salt until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the baking pan.
  5. Pour the caramel sauce over the pressed crust and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
  6. Crumble the remaining mixture on top of the chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute with gluten-free all-purpose flour. You can also swap chocolate chips for butterscotch or peanut butter chips.
