- 1 cup popcorn kernels
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 1/2 cup chopped dried apples
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn kernels using an air popper or on the stovetop and place them in a large bowl.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for 4-5 minutes until it turns a golden color.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and apple pie spice.
- Pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and mix well to coat evenly.
- Add chopped dried apples and mix again.
- Spread the popcorn mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it cool completely.
- Once cooled, break into pieces and serve.
