Description

A perfectly glazed ham with the rich sweetness of brown sugar, honey, and fresh orange juice, making it a centerpiece for any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 810 pounds)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Score the ham by making shallow diagonal cuts in a diamond pattern across the surface.
  3. Combine brown sugar, honey, orange juice, Dijon mustard, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and black pepper in a bowl.
  4. Brush the ham generously with the glaze and cover with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, basting every 20 minutes.
  6. Remove foil in the last 30 minutes to allow caramelization.
  7. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should reach 140°F (60°C).
  8. Let the ham rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

You can prepare the glaze a day in advance for easier assembly. Experiment with spices or add whiskey for extra depth.
