- Mix the base: In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm milk, sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well until all ingredients are harmonious.
- Bring in the dry: Gradually add the flour and salt to the mixture, stirring until a shaggy dough begins to form.
- Add flavorful layers: Gently fold in the blueberries and lemon zest, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Knead the dough: On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and allow it to rise in a warm spot for about 60-120 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you shape the dough.
